Kate is interning with Edu-Futuro once a week from Fall 2013 to Spring 2014 during her senior year of high school. Kate now attends the Madeira School in Mclean, but previously attended Arlington Public Schools in the Key/Gunston immersion program. Kate chose to work at Edu-Futuro this year because she is interested in learning more about working in a non-profit and believes in Edu-Futuro’s mission. Kate helps out with supporting marketing and outreach, maintaining and updating the website and email database, answering phones and taking messages, and organizing packaging correspondence.
Lizzette began volunteering with Edu-Futuro in summer 2010 as an intern, providing critical communications and outreach support to the summer programs, in particular, the Emerging Leaders Program. As a proactive member of the Edu-Futuro community, Lizzette continues to volunteer her time to support ELP students, and has extended her work into supporting other initiatives in Arlington such as the Dream Project and Dreamers of Virginia. She graduated from Moravian College as a History and Sociology double major, and as a local Arlingtonian, Lizzette is passionate about serving her community and Edu-Futuro’s cause. Lizzette recently began working as the Resident Services Assistant at the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing.
